It is true, I cannot apply this statement to everyone. We also have good hosts, journalists, and editors, but they are very few. Our artists are in the minority in every field.” This was said by the well-known singer Nazim Pishyari in an interview with Medianews.az.
He added later:
“They have turned everything into a game. Including singing. They say that if Nazim can sing, I can sing too; if Chingiz Ahmadov acts, I can act too; if Yusif Agayev, Rahib Azari are good radio hosts, I can be one too. People approach everything like that. The hosts themselves need to be ‘cleaned up’ as well. They removed the Zaurs from the air, closed Khoshgedem Bakhsaliyeva’s show, but that does not mean the matter is finished?! They were not the only ones! They hosted socially-oriented programs, of course those programs had their patrons. They did nothing arbitrarily. The problem is that when I look at the hosts who conduct music-related shows, they do not match their desired profile. A person who is not a showman hosts a show. They cannot manage themselves at all. That is why our programs deteriorate. You see what the situation is like. As if our broadcasts are improving. Just banning 15-20 singers does not mean we will improve our broadcasts?! No, I do not agree with that. Even today, people appear on air who are no better than the banned singers. I do not know why some remain, and others have been banned?! Everything should be looked at objectively. You ban one person and not another. This statement also applies to hosts. So why don’t they ban journalists who say whatever comes to their mouths?! This person has 4 outlets—YouTube, TikTok, Instagram, and Facebook. Live broadcast is also broadcasting. You put a ban on television, they open a live there and speak. More people watch those individuals on social media than on broadcasts. There should be a ban on TikTok and other social platforms as well. How long will this indecency and lack of manners continue?”
