A post by Yuliya Volkova, a teacher at the Ural Federal University in Yekaterinburg, Russia, has caused a scandal.
Medianews.az reports, citing "Qafqazinfo," that the mentioned teacher shared a photo of her former Azerbaijani student's 6-year-old daughter on social networks and used unpleasant expressions.
"I ask Azerbaijani families to forgive me. However, one question bothers me: why do such beautiful people have such ugly children?" she stated in the story section of her social media account.
Volkova’s post caused a scandal. The mother of the child who was insulted filed a complaint with the prosecutor's office regarding the matter.
The teacher, who gave a statement to the local media, said that she did not intend to insult anyone with this action and did not expect such a reaction: "I work at the university and I love children very much. I did not intend to insult or humiliate anyone. I also did not want to make the post public, my account is private. Of course, parents have the right to express their feelings, but their reaction seems somewhat excessive."
According to the statement from the Press Service of the Ural Federal University, the institution’s Ethics Committee will conduct an investigation regarding the teacher’s behavior.
