The historic meeting between US President Donald Trump and the President of the People's Republic of China, Xi Jinping, held in Beijing, lasted two hours.
Medianews.az reports that before the meeting, the leaders gave positive messages regarding cooperation and economic relations.
Trump, welcomed with an official ceremony at the Great Hall of the People in Beijing, stated that he views the future of relations with China optimistically: “We will have a great future together with China. I have great respect for your work.”
Xi Jinping, in his speech, drawing attention to global political changes, emphasized the importance of the US and China staying away from confrontation: “China and the US benefit from cooperation and suffer from confrontation. We should be partners, not rivals.”
It was reported that during the meeting, bilateral trade, economic cooperation, tensions surrounding Iran, and the Taiwan issue were discussed.
Leaders of major US companies also participated in Trump's visit. The delegation included well-known business leaders such as Elon Musk, Jensen Huang, Tim Cook, and others.
