We will soon further increase firepower against Iran - Heqset

The firepower used by the US against Iran will increase further in the near future.

Trend reports that US Secretary of Defense Pete Hegseth stated this.

According to the Pentagon chief, the US has no shortage of offensive and defensive weapons.

It should be noted that on February 26, the third round of talks between Iran and the US regarding Iran's nuclear program took place in Geneva. The meeting, which took place under the Donald Trump administration, was considered the last chance for a diplomatic resolution of the situation. No concrete agreements were reached during the talks.

Two days later, on February 28, the US and Israel launched a coordinated military campaign targeting Iran's strategically important military facilities and state leadership; Israel named this operation "Operation Lion’s Roar," and the US called it "Operation Epic Fury." The attacks covered large areas of Iran, including major cities such as Tehran, Isfahan, Tabriz, and Qom.

In response, on that day and the following days, Iran began striking Israel and US military bases in the region – facilities in Jordan, Kuwait, Bahrain, Qatar, and Iraq – with ballistic missiles and unmanned aerial vehicles.

In the military airstrikes carried out by Israel and the US on February 28, Iran’s Supreme Leader Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei and members of his family were killed.

At the same time, Major General Abdolrahim Mousavi, Chief of Staff of the Iranian Army, Mohammad Pakpour, Commander of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (SEPAH), Ali Shamkhani, advisor to Iran’s Supreme Leader and Secretary of the Supreme National Security Council, and Defense Minister Aziz Nasirzadeh were killed during the airstrikes.

From March 1 to 5, the confrontation expanded further, covering various countries in the Middle East; Iran launched hundreds of rockets and drones, while the US and Israel targeted new military objectives within Iranian territory.

On March 4, a US Navy nuclear submarine sank Iran’s "IRIS Dena" frigate with a torpedo in the Indian Ocean, indicating that the conflict had entered its maritime phase.
