On the order of the Myanmar authorities, law enforcement agencies in the country's major cities have destroyed more than 50 tons of confiscated narcotic substances.
The total value of the burned heroin, opium, ketamine, methamphetamine, and marijuana is estimated at approximately 600 million dollars.
According to Yangon police, the total value of the destroyed narcotics is twice as much compared to last year. In Yangon alone, the country's largest city, narcotics worth 321 million dollars were burned.
It should be recalled that at the beginning of the year, Myanmar officials announced that narcotics worth a total of 2.8 billion dollars had been confiscated in the last five years./Oxu.Az
