It is likely that a magnetic storm will occur as a result of the coronal mass ejection caused by the highest-level X1.1 class flare reaching our planet in the evening hours of July 2. The storm is expected to reach level G3.
This information was released by the Space Research Institute of the Russian Academy of Sciences and the Solar Astronomy Laboratory of the Institute of Solar-Terrestrial Physics of the Siberian Branch of the Russian Academy of Sciences.
Previously, starting from the initial days of June, news was reported about the strongest flare observed on the solar surface, rising to the X1.1 class.
"Although the flare is of medium intensity, since the active solar centers are currently positioned almost exactly along the Sun-Earth line, the impact of the strike will be quite clearly felt. In such a situation, maximum level storms or radiation storms are not expected; even recording level G4 is difficult, but occurrences of events belonging to category G3 (strong) appear inevitable. This storm is expected to be the strongest storm observed since March of this year," the statement said.
Experts note that the plasma cloud accompanying the ignition will reach the Earth tomorrow between 09:00 and 00:00 Moscow time./oxu.az
