The child who was taken to the hospital due to the problem at his head was circumcised — The family received 5500 manats in compensation

The incident involving a minor who came to the hospital in Crimea with a head tumor has shaken the national agenda. The unimaginable negligence of the doctors has completely changed the child's life.

According to Demokrat.az, doctors in Crimea confused the child with a head injury with another patient and circumcised him without the knowledge and permission of his parents.

The incident occurred in the Sovetski district of Crimea. According to the information, the parents brought their child to the hospital after a tumor appeared on his head following a fall. Although the registration department sent the child for an X-ray, while the family was waiting for their turn for examination, a surgeon approached and took the minor to his room.

It was reported that the child, who did not leave the room for a long time, woke up from anesthesia. The father, who entered, saw that his son's groin area was bandaged. It turned out that the child with a tumor on the head was mistakenly circumcised.

The child's mother stated that her son started screaming and crying after waking up from anesthesia: "He was asking what had happened, why they deceived him, and why they hurt him."

In their statements to the investigators, the doctors admitted that the incident happened by mistake and that they confused the child with another patient. No tests were conducted before the surgery, and the child's allergies to medications were not checked. Although a false "phimosis" diagnosis was placed on the child in the documents, the parents stated that their child had no genital issues.

By court decision, the hospital was ordered to pay 300,000 rubles (approximately 5,500 manats) in compensation to the child. However, no criminal case has been opened regarding the incident so far.
