According to Azerbaijan's production calendar, working hours will be changed twice in May of the current year. The reduction of working hours is regulated by the relevant requirements of the Labor Code.
Demokrat.az reports that the first reduction will come into effect on May 8 in state and private institutions operating in the country. Although Victory Day over Fascism falls on a non-working day, Article 108 of the legislation provides for a concession on the day before the holiday. On that date, the working hours for all employees will be reduced by one hour.
Closer to the end of the month, a similar procedure will be repeated in connection with the Eid al-Adha holiday. On May 26, the day before the official holiday starting on May 27, working hours will also be reduced by one hour. From May 27 onwards, a continuous five-day holiday will be observed in the country.
