According to experts, although the material is the same, separating cloths by color prevents cross-contamination and the transfer of bacteria (for example, from the bathroom to the kitchen) at home. Although there is no official international standard, specialists recommend grouping cloths by color to make cleaning safer:
Red cloths: For the bathroom and toilet;
Green cloths: For the kitchen;
Yellow cloths: For glass and windows;
Blue cloths: For furniture and general surfaces.
The basic rule of this division is not the colors themselves, but that everyone at home consistently adheres to the system you set. This method makes cleaning more organized and also minimizes microbial risk.
