Price increases and decreases in Azerbaijan products - LIST

In May of this year, the prices of food products, alcoholic beverages, and tobacco products in Azerbaijan decreased by 0.1 percent compared to the previous month. On an annual basis, prices in this category increased by 6.6 percent.

Medianews.az reports that the State Statistical Committee has released this information.

According to the information, in May, buckwheat groats, beef and lamb meat, sausage products, cheese, cottage cheese, table margarine, sunflower and corn oil, lemon, apple, kiwi, white cabbage, broccoli, greens, green beans, table beetroot, onion, as well as carbonated and non-carbonated waters became more expensive.

At the same time, fresh fish, eggs, bananas, strawberries, cucumbers, tomatoes, sweet peppers, eggplants, carrots, garlic, and potatoes became cheaper. No significant changes were recorded in the prices of other food products.

Consumer prices for non-food products increased by 0.1 percent on a monthly basis and by 3.9 percent on an annual basis. During the reporting period, the prices of paint, plastic pipes, detergents, and personal hygiene products increased, while a decrease was observed in the prices of jewelry products.

In May, the prices of paid services provided to the population increased by 0.2 percent compared to the previous month and by 5.7 percent compared to the same period last year. During this period, international air passenger transportation services became more expensive, while there were no significant changes in the prices of other services.

According to the State Statistical Committee, from January to May of this year, consumer prices increased by 5.6 percent compared to the same period last year. This indicator was 6.7 percent for food products, alcoholic beverages, and tobacco products, 3.7 percent for non-food products, and 5.7 percent for paid services.

Compared to May last year, annual inflation was 5.6 percent, and monthly inflation was 0.1 percent.
