These farmers additionally will receive a subsidy

It is planned to provide additional subsidies to farmers in Azerbaijan who use laser harrows.

Medianews.az, citing Globalinfo.az, reports that this was stated by Rashad Huseynov, director of the Agrarian Research Center of the Ministry of Agriculture, during a public hearing held by the Agrarian Policy Committee of the National Assembly about the tasks arising from the "State Program for the Development of Production and Processing of Agricultural, Fishing, and Aquaculture Products for 2026-2030".

According to him, the goal is to increase the wheat yield in the country from the current 4 tons to 5 tons, and additional subsidy mechanisms will be applied for this purpose: "We will continue to support the installation of modern irrigation systems in new fields and plan to further improve the mechanism there. It is envisaged to improve land leveling work using laser harrows because this has a serious effect on productivity. Additional subsidies are planned to be provided to farmers applying laser harrows. In parallel, it is planned to strengthen melioration measures and supervision of agrotechnical maintenance work in selected regions. Naturally, all these processes in turn will ensure food security, increase productivity, and boost production."

R. Huseynov added that it is planned to increase productivity in specialized regions regarding the development of the cotton-growing cluster from the current 36 centners to 50 centners: "Here, product subsidies are also envisaged for cottonseed and yarn, which will be a mechanism directly stimulating the development of processing. In parallel, the establishment of two new enterprises is planned; we already have applications in this direction and have an approximate understanding of which enterprises are expected to operate, and it is planned to provide interest subsidies to them."
