In the first quarter of this year, 4,995 cases of fraud occurred in Azerbaijan involving payment cards within the country, amounting to 1,350,492 manat.

During the reporting period, 21.4% of domestic fraud cases were related to account takeovers. Meanwhile, 60.2% of international fraud cases were carried out without the physical presence of the card.
In January-March of the current year, both domestic and international fraud mainly occurred through e-commerce and mobile applications. Specifically, 98.3% of domestic fraud cases and 80.6% of international cases were recorded via e-commerce and mobile applications./apa
