Zoonotic disease has been detected in four cattle brought from Georgia to Azerbaijan.
This was reported to Medianews.az by the Azerbaijan Food Safety Agency (AFSA).
It was stated that on May 5, a total of 89 slaughter-ready live cattle imported by "Agrovest MT" LLC from Georgia's "Universal Export" company underwent clinical and laboratory examination.
During the control measures, signs suggestive of zoonotic diseases were found in four cattle. Those animals exhibited high fever, general weakening, and persistent balance disorders.
Considering the existing risks, permission to import the animals into the country was not granted, and they were returned to the country of origin. An official request was sent to the relevant authorities of Georgia to prevent the recurrence of this situation.
