In the US, a 40-year-old man lost his balance while descending an escalator in the subway and his jacket got caught in the mechanism. As a result of the tragedy, the man, Steven McClasky, lost his life.
Medianews.az reports that the incident occurred on February 27 at the "Davis" metro station in Boston.
He tried to take off his jacket, but the piece wrapped around his neck and began to strangle him.
Footage from surveillance cameras shows many people passing by without intervening in the incident. The escalator was stopped approximately 20 minutes later. Rescuers had to dismantle the escalator to extract the man.
The man fell into a coma and died 10 days later from heart failure. An investigation is underway regarding the incident.
