Demokrat.az reports that these words were spoken by Honored Artist Vasif Məhərrəmli on the program “Zarafat bir yana.” The singer talked about his interest in football.
V. Məhərrəmli also clarified his earlier statement that attracted criticism, “I won’t sit next to a person who smells like mazut (fuel oil)”:
“I said that cleanliness comes from faith. A person must be clean. When I change my car oil, I sit by the mechanics and drink their tea. I say that after finishing your work, you should be clean, and you should go home clean too. I didn’t say that I don’t like laborers or sewer cleaners. No matter what field a person works in, they must be clean. Why should I sit next to someone who smells like mazut? I didn’t say I don’t like them. ‘Mazut’ here is a figurative expression. You can be a teacher, but you may smell like mazut.”
The singer answered questions about shopping for expensive brands. He stated that he likes to spend a lot of money on clothes he likes:
“Lately, I’ve been shopping from the ‘Etro’ brand. There, shirts are between 800-1300, tracksuits 2000-2500, and suits cost above 3000 manats. I buy suits, tracksuits, and shirts. Recently, I bought a tracksuit.”
