Medianews.az reports that the search warrant was issued on May 13. Denis Butsayev's name has been placed in the search database of the Russian Ministry of Internal Affairs. However, no specific charges have been indicated in the official database.
According to Russian media, Denis Butsayev is suspected of embezzlement of state funds.
Before being appointed Deputy Minister in 2025, Butsayev worked as the CEO of the "Russian Ecological Operator" company. This state company was established in 2019 to implement reforms in the field of waste management. It is said that the criminal case against Denis Butsayev is related to his activities in the company.
Born in 1977, Denis Butsayev left the country immediately after resigning in April. He is currently suspected to be in the USA.
