The alleged incident that took place in a restaurant in Monaco has sparked widespread discussions on social networks.
Medianews.az reports that, according to claims, one of the restaurant customers laid a prayer rug in the middle of the hall and began to pray.
Seeing this, the restaurant manager approached him politely and asked him to stop his worship and leave the premises.
It is claimed that the customer did not accept this request and stated that as a Muslim, he has the right to pray wherever he wants.
After the circulation of the footage said to depict the incident, there was a division of opinion in public perception. One group of users defended that religious freedom must be ensured for everyone and that worship should not be restricted.
Another group emphasized the importance of choosing more appropriate places for worship in common-use places such as restaurants, stating that such incidents should not cause public discomfort.
No official statement has been made by authorities regarding the incident.
