Longevity expert Dan Buettner has given some advice to those who want to live long.

Medianews.az reports that he recommends consuming legumes, especially beans, in the diet.

According to him, research shows that simple and natural foods form the basis of a long life. People living in the "Blue Zones" frequently consume beans and other legumes in their daily diet.

Buettner stated that long-lived people eat legumes on average four times more than others. These foods are rich in protein, fiber, and complex carbohydrates, which provide energy to the body and help maintain health.

The expert recommends adding at least half a cup of legumes to the daily menu.
