Turkey's Minister of Transport and Infrastructure Abdulqadir Uraloğlu stated that the explosion on the oil-laden tanker carrying 140 thousand tons of oil occurred as a result of foreign intervention.
Medianews.az reports, citing APA, that the minister said the underwater attack theory is being investigated.
"Possibilities related to an underwater attack are being evaluated. Our technical teams have been directed to the incident site. They will determine this in the coming hours. We will give a more precise statement after the investigation. But at the moment, we can say that this explosion occurred as a result of an intervention. Especially its targeting of the engine room aims to completely disable the ship," he emphasized.
It should be noted that the ALTURA crude oil tanker belonging to Turkey was struck by a drone in the Black Sea.
