The first draws for UEFA club tournaments for the 2026-2027 season have been held, and the opponents of the Azerbaijani representatives have been determined.
Medianews.az reports that there are four qualifying rounds in each of the three tournaments. Teams eliminated in the first qualifying round of the Champions League move to the Conference League, and those eliminated in the subsequent rounds move to the Europa League; teams eliminated in Europa League qualifiers drop into the Conference League.
In the 36-team league stages, the top 8 finishers advance to the Round of 16, and those placing 9th to 24th enter the Round of 32.
“Sabah,” starting in the first qualifying round of the Champions League, will face Wales' “New Saints” team. If they advance to the second round, “Sabah” will face either “Vardar” (North Macedonia) or KuPS (Finland).
If eliminated in the first round, “Sabah” will face either “Flora” (Estonia) or “Iberia 1999” in the second qualifying round of the Conference League.
“Qarabağ,” participating in the first qualifying round of the Europa League, has drawn “Vestri” (Iceland). If they pass this stage, in the second round, “Qarabağ” will meet either CSKA (Bulgaria) or “Derry City” (Ireland).
If eliminated in the first qualifying round, “Qarabağ” will move to the Conference League and face either “Glentoran” (Northern Ireland) or RFS (Latvia) in the second round.
“Zirə,” starting in the first qualifying round of the Conference League, will try to overcome the “Torpedo” (Georgia) hurdle. If they pass, “Zirə” will play in the second qualifying round against either “Hegelmann” (Lithuania) or “Paide” (Estonia).
“Neftçi,” entering at the second qualifying round of the Conference League, will face either “Dinamo” (Minsk, Belarus) or “Sileks” (North Macedonia).
